Lengua Trio Necklace in Sterling Silver

The Lengua Trio Necklace is a sculptural .925 sterling silver necklace set with three natural stones, made by hand in our workshop in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico.

It belongs to our Lengua Collection, inspired by the universal act of communication. The links reinterpret the tongue — a symbol we found throughout pre-Hispanic codices, where it stands for speech, knowledge and human connection.

Three stones sit spaced across ten links, so the necklace reads as rhythm rather than as a single focal point. It's a composition built on repetition, and on where you break it.

Our silversmiths build each link using cartoneado, a technique Taxco has practiced for generations: sterling sheet is die-stamped, then soldered by hand into a hollow form. It's what lets a 60-gram necklace sit lightly at the collarbone.

Choose your stone: jade, lapis lazuli, malachite or black onyx. Each of the three is selected by hand, so no two necklaces are alike.

Care

Silver is a living material and will develop a patina over time. Polish it with a silver cloth to bring back the shine, or leave it darker — we like it both ways. Keep the stones away from perfume and household cleaners, and take it off before swimming.

Questions

Are the stones natural? Yes, all three. Each one is hand-selected and cut by our lapidary in Mexico, so color and veining vary from one necklace to the next — and from one stone to the next within the same piece.

Can I order a different length? Yes. It's 20 inches as standard, and we make it to measure on request. Write to us before ordering.

How is it different from the Lilly Necklace? The Trio is lighter and more spaced — three stones across ten links, worn long at 20 inches. The Lilly is our signature collar: fourteen tongues, one large center stone, and a limited edition of twenty. The Trio is for every day; the Lilly is for the day you want to be looked at.
