Lengua Center Stone Bracelet in Sterling Silver

The Lengua Center Stone Bracelet is a sculptural .925 sterling silver link bracelet set with a natural center stone, made by hand in our workshop in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico.

It belongs to our Lengua Collection, inspired by the universal language of communication. The links reinterpret the tongue — a symbol we found throughout pre-Hispanic codices, where it stands for speech, knowledge and human connection.

At the center we set one large natural stone, a 2 x 3 cm oval that anchors the whole composition. The silver is ours; the stone is its own — that conversation is the piece.

Our silversmiths build the links using cartoneado, a technique Taxco has practiced for generations: sheets of .925 sterling are die-stamped, then soldered one by one into a hollow form. It's what lets a bracelet this substantial stay light enough to wear all day.

Choose your stone: jade, lapis lazuli, malachite or black onyx. We select each one by hand, so no two are alike.

Care

Silver is a living material and will develop a patina over time. Polish it with a silver cloth to bring back the shine, or leave it darker — we like it both ways. Keep the stone away from perfume and household cleaners, and take it off before swimming.

Questions

Is the piece solid or hollow? Hollow. We build the links with cartoneado, a traditional Taxco technique: sheets of .925 sterling silver are die-stamped and hand-soldered into a hollow form. The silver is .925 throughout — the hollow construction is what keeps 60 grams of bracelet comfortable on the wrist.

Is the stone natural? Yes, natural and cut by hand by our lapidary in Mexico. Because it's natural, color and veining vary from one bracelet to the next — that variation is the point.

How does it close? With a box clasp — the tongue slides in and locks with an audible click. It's more secure than a hook and it sits flush, so nothing catches on a sleeve.

How do I choose a size? Measure your wrist and add about half an inch so it moves comfortably.
