Lengua Bracelet in Sterling Silver

The Lengua Bracelet is a sculptural .925 sterling silver link bracelet, made by hand in our workshop in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico. It's the larger of our two Lengua bracelets.

It belongs to our Lengua Collection, inspired by the universal language of communication. The links reinterpret the tongue — a symbol we found throughout pre-Hispanic codices, where it stands for speech, knowledge and human connection. We reduced it to its essential form, so each element falls into a rhythm that wraps naturally around the wrist.

Our silversmiths build it using cartoneado, a technique Taxco has practiced for generations: sheets of .925 sterling are die-stamped, then soldered one by one into a hollow form. It's why 64 grams of silver sits comfortably rather than weighing on you.

10% of the proceeds from this piece go to the Southern Smoke Foundation, a nonprofit that provides emergency funding to food and beverage workers nationwide through its Behind You program. It's an industry Caroline came from, and one we still belong to.

Care

Silver is a living material and will develop a patina over time. Polish it with a silver cloth to bring back the shine, or leave it darker — we like it both ways. Take it off before swimming and store it dry.

Questions

Is the piece solid or hollow? Hollow. We build it with cartoneado, a traditional Taxco technique: sheets of .925 sterling silver are die-stamped and hand-soldered into a hollow form. The silver is .925 throughout — the hollow construction is what makes a bracelet this substantial wearable all day.

What's the difference between this and the Lenguita? Scale. The Lengua has fewer, larger links; the Lenguita has more, smaller ones and sits closer to the wrist. Same language, different volume.

How do I choose a size? Measure your wrist and add about half an inch so it moves comfortably.

How does it close? With a box clasp — the tongue slides in and locks with an audible click. More secure than a hook, and it sits flush so nothing catches on a sleeve.
